Thoughtful Care, Tailored to Your Scalp

No two scalps are the same. After reviewing your concerns and history, we can discuss which supportive treatments may be appropriate, their limitations, and when medical evaluation is needed.

01

Cold Plasma Therapy

A nonthermal plasma-based scalp service being explored for its effects on surface microbes and skin responses. Evidence for treating hair loss remains limited; it is not a proven cure for inflammation or alopecia.

02

Microneedling

A technique that creates controlled microchannels in the skin. Some research suggests potential benefits for certain hair-loss conditions when used with appropriate medical care. Suitability, safety and provider qualifications matter.

03

Low-Level Light Therapy (LLLT)

Noninvasive light-based technology with evidence of benefit for some people with pattern hair loss. Results vary, and multiple sessions are generally needed.

Services are discussed according to individual suitability, training and applicable requirements. We do not promise regrowth or replace dermatologic diagnosis and treatment.

Understanding Hair Loss

Different Patterns. Different Possibilities.

Hair shedding, thinning and scalp changes can have many explanations. Recognizing the pattern is a starting point—not a diagnosis.

CCCA

Central centrifugal cicatricial alopecia often begins near the crown and may cause scarring and permanent follicle loss. Early dermatologist evaluation is important.

Traction Alopecia

Repeated tension from tight hairstyles, extensions or braids can cause thinning, especially near the hairline. Changing styling practices early may help protect follicles.

Alopecia Areata

An autoimmune condition that can cause sudden, well-defined patches of hair loss. A dermatologist can confirm the diagnosis and discuss treatments.

Pattern Hair Loss

Androgenetic alopecia can present as a widening part, crown thinning or a receding hairline. Genetics and hormone sensitivity play important roles.

Telogen Effluvium

Increased shedding may follow illness, major stress, childbirth, rapid weight loss or nutritional changes. A medical assessment can help identify triggers.

Scalp Irritation & Inflammation

Persistent itching, redness, scaling, tenderness or sores deserve attention. Different scalp conditions require different approaches, and some need prescription care.

Understanding Your Care Options

Medical Hair & Scalp Care

What a dermatologist does

  • Diagnoses medical causes of hair loss, including autoimmune and scarring alopecias.
  • May order blood tests or perform a scalp biopsy when clinically appropriate.
  • Can prescribe medications and provide medical treatments.
  • Evaluates scalp pain, inflammation, infection, rapid hair loss and other concerning symptoms.
  • Provides ongoing medical monitoring when a diagnosed condition requires it.
The Abliss Experience

What your trichology consultation offers

  • A detailed conversation about your hair history, lifestyle, routine and concerns.
  • Magnified ScalpScope imaging to document visible hair and scalp characteristics.
  • Individualized scalp cleansing, wellness services and hair-care recommendations.
  • Education about styling practices, scalp comfort and supportive at-home routines.
  • Follow-up support and referrals to a dermatologist when medical evaluation is needed.

Better together. A trichology consultation does not replace a dermatologist. At Abliss Holistic Hair Recovery in Jacksonville, Florida, we help you better understand your scalp-care options and recognize when medical care is the right next step.

Beyond the Surface

Hair loss is personal. So is your path forward.

Changes in your hair can have many possible causes. Let’s look at what might be contributing.

Hormonal Changes

Menopause, postpartum changes, and thyroid conditions can affect the hair growth cycle and contribute to thinning.

Scalp Inflammation

Redness, itching, flaking, or tenderness may signal a scalp condition that deserves attention.

GLP-1 & Weight Loss

Rapid weight loss and nutritional changes may trigger temporary increased shedding.

Autoimmune Conditions

Conditions such as alopecia areata can cause the immune system to target hair follicles.

Pattern Hair Loss

Gradual thinning at the part, crown, or hairline may be linked to genetics and hormone sensitivity.

Gut Health & Nutrition

Digestive conditions that interfere with nutrient absorption may contribute to deficiencies linked with hair loss.

Traction Alopecia

Tight braids, weaves, and extensions can put repeated tension on the hairline and damage follicles over time.

Chronic Stress

Prolonged physical or emotional stress may disrupt the hair growth cycle and increase shedding.
